Description
John Prine, one of our nation's greatest singer-songwriters, was once asked by an audience member to sing that "enchilada" song. Unsure of what she meant, he asked her to repeat a few lines. She said, "You know, 'it's a happy enchilada and you think you're gonna drown." The line is actually "It's a half an inch of water and you think you're gonna drown". John Prine said he was glad she enjoyed the lyrics.
The painting is sort of silly and I was not going to put it out in public but then realized that John Prine's original sentiment is not silly and is relevant to everybody's life. What better way to convey that relevance than with an image that both reminds us to lighten up and makes us smile at the same time.
