The Anasazi were an ancient group of Native Americans who disappeared from the land long before Europeans entered the continent. No one is certain why they vanished. Perhaps they thought it prudent to exit the scene before things got really ugly. The natural stone arches of the Southwestern United States always puts me in mind of portals.
