Artist's Description

This is me when I was about 3 years old and still living in the country. My parents and I were living with my grandparents and my two teen-aged uncles. Living in the country and having an extended family was, for me, an idyllic situation. The sense impressions from that period of my life are still very strong. So much so that they often still come back to me. I realized how deep those impressions were when I was having my coffee one morning on the bench by my pond in the sunlight. The warmth of the sun, the sound of the wind and the birds, and the small plane in the distance overhead brought back strong feelings of moments just such as sitting on that bench when I was three.
